Abstract
Supply chain resilience is, therefore, one of the key success factors in the age of Industry 4.0. In this article, the author examines the potential of SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) to become a tool that revolutionizes the supply chain and makes it more secure. SAP IBP is backed up by artificial intelligence, machine learning, and real-time data analytical technologies to deal with volatile customer demand, suboptimal stocks, and disturbed supply networks worldwide. This paper measures its effectiveness based on real-life scenarios and benchmarks it against Oracle SCM Cloud and Kinaxis RapidResponse. This work identifies key findings of SAP IBP's effectiveness in demand forecasting accuracy, inventory management, and decision-making collaboration. The platform does provide many benefits, but a proper approach to its application should be discussed considering the organizational preparedness and data support. Finally, the article offers insights into the potential SAP IBP developments, such as blockchain roles, sustainability, and enhancement of SAP IBP user interfaces. Based on this evidential background, the importance of SAP IBP in the context of supply chain change in the Industry 4.0 era is highlighted in this study.
