Abstract

The impact of educational policies on the educational development of tribal people in Telangana is examined in this study, "Education Policies and Their Influence on Tribal Communities in India: A Study of Telangana State." A vital tool for inclusive development, economic empowerment, and social change is education. But traditionally, tribal populations have encountered obstacles like remote location, poverty, cultural disparities, linguistic limitations, and poor infrastructure.
The Right to Education Act (2009), the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Ashram Schools, Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), scholarships, and welfare programs intended to strengthen tribal education are just a few of the major educational policies and initiatives that are examined in this study. Using both primary and secondary data gathered from surveys, interviews, observations, government reports, census data, and academic literature, a descriptive and analytical research design was used. The results show that these measures have enhanced indigenous populations' access to education, enrolment, literacy rates, and learning possibilities. Participation in education has been greatly boosted via residential schools, scholarships, free textbooks, uniforms, and midday food programs. Despite these successes, issues like high dropout rates, gender inequality, teacher shortages, inadequate infrastructure, socioeconomic limitations, and language hurdles still exist. The study concludes that strengthening infrastructure, promoting mother-tongue-based education, improving policy implementation, and increasing community participation are essential for achieving educational equity and empowering tribal communities in Telangana.
