Abstract

Emotional Maturity and Emotional Intelligence are two significant psychological constructs that influence personal, social, academic, and professional development. Emotional Maturity is about emotional stability, self-control and accountable behavior, whereas Emotional Intelligence is about the ability to know, understand, regulate and use emotions effectively. Both concepts are closely related, but they differ in the theoretical basis, dimensions, and practical use. The current conceptual review is the examination of meaning, characteristics, dimensions and theoretical perspectives of Emotional Maturity and Emotional intelligence. It also highlights the similarities and differences between these constructs and their significance in educational contexts. The review revealed that Emotional Maturity and Emotional Intelligence are significant contributors to effective decision-making, interpersonal relationships, psychological well-being and academic success. The paper ends with a strong statement of integration of emotional development programs within educational institutions for holistic personality development of the learners.
